How Long Do I Have to File a Personal Injury Claim in Florida?
According to the Florida Statutes section 95.11(3)(a), the statute of limitations for personal injury cases in Florida is two years. The statute of limitations is a law which limits how long a claimant intending to file a personal injury claim has to file their claim before they lose their legal right to do so.
More specifically, this means you have two years from the date your injury was inflicted to file a claim, or you will most likely lose your right to file along with your right to pursue compensation. It’s important to note, there are some exceptions that can alter this two year time limit, so it’s important to speak to a knowledgeable attorney about the specifics of your case as soon as possible and learn if you meet any of these exceptions.
Our way of developing personal relationships with our clients not only allows us to advocate effectively for you, it also allows you to get to know us. It is because we get to know our clients well, and they get to know us, that most of our new clients come to our firm based on recommendations by our existing clients.
We also have solid relationships with lawyers outside of our firm. Many of our clients come to us on the referral of other attorneys.
